Nissan had a big 2020 model year, with many models entering a new generation for the first time. Among them was the Nissan Versa, which is now in its third generation. The Nissan Versa was first introduced as a rebadged version of the Nissan Tiida back in 2006. Nissan then rebadged the Latio and introduced it as the second-generation Versa in 2012, before replacing it with a rebadged Almera last year. Now, we’re happy to provide the 2021 Nissan Versa right here in the Newport News VA area.
Despite its nature as a subcompact sedan, the Nissan Versa offers a versatile amount of space – hence the name. Its cabin offers 96.0 cubic feet of space for you and your passengers to stretch out and get comfortable in when it isn’t equipped with a moonroof, plus 14.3 cubic feet of space to fill in the trunk. That’s not a massive trunk by any means, but it’s quite large for the subcompact sedan segment, surpassing even some compact sedans’ trunks.
Powered by a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine, the Nissan Versa can generate up to 122 horsepower while achieving 40 miles per gallon on the highway, or 32 mpg through the city. While that’s not a mind-blowing amount of power, it is a relatively impressive number for the subcompact segment, and pairs will with its great fuel economy rating.
The sedan is also packed with plenty of great standard and available equipment, some of which might not typically be seen in the entry-level sedan segment. For example, the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of driver-assistive technologies is available in the sedan, which brings all sorts of great programs like Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking to your sedan.
With three trim levels to choose from, and even your selection of 5-speed manual or Xtronic continuously variable transmission in the base S trim level, you have plenty of option to you when shopping for the Versa.
