When it comes to the Nissan lineup, only three nameplates have been around since the ‘80s. The Nissan Pathfinder got its start in 1986, which was preceded by the Nissan Sentra in 1982, just two years after the Nissan Maxima was introduced to the world. Now in its eighth generation, the Maxima has undergone plenty of changes through its four decades on the market, including stints as a compact and midsize sedan before becoming the full-size sedan we know and love today. The 2021 Nissan Maxima is celebrating its 40th anniversary here in the Newport News VA area, and we’re stoked to be able to offer it to you.
Beneath the hood of the 2021 Nissan Maxima rests a 3.5L V6 engine. It’s capable of generating 300 horsepower as well as 261 pound-feet of torque, and is tethered to a host of great performance-enhancing features and technologies such as the Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System, Nissan Direct Ignition System, electronic drive-by-wire throttle, Xtronic continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive system.
Available in three different trim levels – SV, SR and Platinum – this powertrain underpins the Maxima regardless of which you choose. However, if you choose the Maxima Platinum, then you can add the special 40th Anniversary Edition package on top of it for relatively small extra cost. This package adds a host of unique design cues, including exclusive 19” gloss black aluminum alloy wheels and a fetching two-tone exterior color that combines a black roof with Ruby Slate Gray Pearl, as well as some extra premium features – like heated rear seating.
The 2021 Nissan Maxima is an excellent choice in the full-size sedan segment, so if you’d like to learn even more about the features and technologies available within it, don’t hesitate to give us a call right here at Banister Nissan of Norfolk. We look forward to hearing from you!
