When it comes to the traditional class of sport utility vehicles, a lot of the herd has been thinned over the past several years. Traditional SUVs are a thing of the past, being replaced slowly but surely by the newer and often sleeker crossover class. But there are still a few stalwart holdouts, and the Nissan Armada is chief among them in our opinion. Having joined the lineup in 2004, it wasn’t until 2017 that the Armada finally entered its second generation. Now, the 2021 Nissan Armada has received a slight redesign to keep things fresh. The new model is available here at Banister Nissan of Norfolk not far from Newport News VA.
The mid-generation facelift is immediately noticeable if you’ve seen the current Nissan Armada, as the 2021 model year kicks things off with a fresh exterior. The newest iteration of the SUV includes a redesigned grille, hood, front fenders, front and rear bumpers, LED headlights, LED taillights and even a new exterior color option. The interior is further updated by a new standard 12.3” display audio system, which is the largest in its class.
A host of new technologies will come standard and available in the traditional SUV, as well. For example, that new display audio screen – which will be accompanied by a 7” Advanced Driver Assist Display – will offer Wi-Fi connectivity and wireless Apple CarPlay as standard features, while you can opt for wireless smartphone charging. Safety technologies are also enhanced this year, by standardizing features like Blind Spot Intervention, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Lane Intervention and the Nissan Safety Shield 360.
Finally, the Armada SL trim level will be available with a new Midnight Edition Package. It comes with a host of blackened design cues, like the exterior logos, mirrors, roof rails, paint finisher on the LED lamps, grille and skid plates.
