The first generation of the Nissan Frontier officially kicked off during the 1997 model year. It was preceded by the Datsun Truck, which was introduced for the 1985 model year and considered by many to be the same as the predecessor to the Nissan Frontier. The Frontier truck’s first generation lasted from ’97 to 2003, followed by the second generation from ’04 to 2013, with the third and current generation kicking off for 2014. Now, the 2020 Nissan Frontier is available here in the Newport News VA area, and we’re stoked to be able to provide such an excellent small pickup to all of you.
A modern midsize pickup truck like the 2020 Frontier has to offer much more than capability and performance. So, we’ll get to those technical specifications, but first we wanted to highlight some of the technologies and features found throughout the Frontier, particularly in the cabin. Technologies like Nissan Connect, Siri Eyes Free and streaming audio via Bluetooth enhance your connectivity while you’re on the road. Plus, features like the available Rockford Fosgate audio system enable you to enhance your cabin even further.
If power and performance are what you’re interested more than cabin features and technologies, you’ll be pleased to hear that the 2020 Frontier pickup truck’s all-new 3.8L V6 engine is capable of generating 310 horsepower alongside 281 pound-feet of torque. It’s tethered to a new 9-speed automatic transmission, which combined with the engine enables the Frontier to achieve a respectable combined fuel economy rating of 20 miles per gallon across city and highway driving.
That kind of power also enables the Frontier to accommodate plenty of weight through its bed and via trailering. To be more specific, the Frontier is capable of hauling up to 6,720 pounds via trailering and 1,460 lbs. in the truck bed.
